Mr Hassan Wazait is a leading and experienced Consultant Urological Surgeon, practicing at The Clementine Churchill Hospital, Bishops Wood Hospital and the Syon Clinic in London. He moved to Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals in 2017, having previously worked as a Consultant at Addenbrooke and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals in Cambridgeshire.
Mr Wazait completed his specialist training in the North London hospitals network and spent his period of clinical research at The Royal College of Surgeons of England and Whittington Hospital. His main research project focused on catheter-associated urinary tract infections, a subject he remains passionate about advancing through evidence-based practice, patient education, and innovation in clinical care.
He has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented nationally and internationally on various urological topics. Additionally, he was awarded the title of Faculty Tutor at the Institute of Urology and Nephrology in London and has been featured in the prestigious “Who’s Who” in Medicine and Healthcare (USA).
His final year of training was undertaken at the world-renowned Stone Unit at St. Bartholomew’s and The Royal London Hospitals. The Unit has been recognized as a Fellowship Centre and Centre of Excellence by the European Board of Urology. He has also taught in several national courses and trained many urologists to become consultants, reflecting his dedication to education and mentorship.
Mr Wazait specializes in kidney stone disease and offers all forms of surgical intervention, including LASER treatment for stones. One of his key interests is Green Light LASER vaporisation of the prostate, a procedure he is uniquely positioned to offer in Northwest London Hospitals. His expertise extends to managing overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, and painful bladder syndrome/interstitial cystitis, employing advanced techniques such as PTNS (posterior tibial nerve stimulation), bladder instillation, and intravesical Botox injections.
In addition, he is skilled in all aspects of general urology, cancer diagnosis, and management, as well as general paediatric urology, including circumcisions. He provides expert care for patients with benign and malignant prostate disease and is adept at addressing concerns related to prostate and bladder cancers. As a core member of the cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT), he ensures all cases are thoroughly reviewed and managed in collaboration with other specialists, delivering compassionate, personalized, and exceptional care for every patient.
