About Dr Harriet Pomeroy

Personal Profile

Dr Harriet Pomeroy is a GP with a special interest in women’s health and menopause care.

Dr Pomeroy qualified from Brighton and Sussex Medical School in 2013. She completed her General Practice specialty training in Milton Keynes, gaining experience in both hospital and GP settings. Following this, Dr Pomeroy has worked as a NHS GP in the local area.

During her training, Dr Pomeroy worked in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, where she discovered her passion for supporting women's health. She has since earned the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare and holds the Letters of Competence in Intrauterine Techniques and Subdermal Contraceptive Implants. She fits contraceptive coils and implants within her clinical practice.

In addition to working as a NHS GP, Dr Pomeroy has worked as a specialty doctor at an Integrated Contraception and Sexual Health Service, and currently works as the Clinical Lead in a NHS Community Gynaecology Service.

With her wealth of experience and compassionate approach, Dr Pomeroy is dedicated to helping women navigate the unique challenges of perimenopause and menopause. She is a member of the British Menopause Society and has been awarded the Management of the Menopause Certificate. Dr Pomeroy takes a holistic approach to perimenopausal and menopausal care, to ensure that each woman receives support tailored to her unique needs. This includes an individualised assessment of symptoms and discussion about both non-hormonal and hormonal (HRT) treatment options. Dr Pomeroy is experienced in the prescribing of HRT and can provide expert guidance on the benefits and risks associated with this. Dr Pomeroy can also address concerns related to abnormal bleeding in the perimenopause or post-menopause, and unscheduled bleeding on HRT.

Dr Pomeroy can provide support for a broad spectrum of women’s health concerns, including, but not limited to: premenstrual symptoms, menstrual problems, breast concerns, vulvovaginal symptoms and polycystic ovarian syndrome.
