His NHS practice is based at the National Treatment Centre and Victoria Hospital within NHS Fife, where he provides expert care for patients with hip and knee conditions, as well as injuries affecting the skeleton, muscles and skin. Mr Rehman is committed to offering his patients the highest standards of patient-centred care, combining a tailored clinical approach with compassion. His holistic approach not only addresses the immediate surgical needs but also focuses on long-term recovery and well-being. He is the Governance Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery at NHS Fife, ensuring that the highest standards of patient safety, clinical quality, and service delivery are maintained.
Mr Rehman graduated from Aberdeen University and completed rigorous orthopaedic training through the North of Scotland Orthopaedic Training Programme. His surgical expertise was further refined during the prestigious John Charnley Specialist Fellowship at Wrightington Hospital, a world-renowned centre for pioneering hip replacement surgery which performs approximately 3000 hip and knee replacements a year. Integrating cutting-edge technology into his surgical repertoire, Mr Rehman also completed a national travelling fellowship in robotic hip and knee replacement surgery, an area he believes plays a transformative role in improving patient care.
A passionate educator, Mr Rehman serves as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Dundee, where he mentors and trains the next generation of doctors, sharing his expertise in modern surgical techniques and patient management strategies. Previously, he also held the position of Honorary Clinical Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen, where he contributed significantly to the academic and clinical development of medical students. Mr Rehman was awarded Fellowship of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers very early on in his consultant career. He is actively involved in clinical research and has published several studies and surgical techniques. He commits fully to the advancement of orthopaedic surgery.
Beyond his clinical and academic roles, Mr Rehman serves as a Member of Council for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, actively participating in shaping the future of surgical standards and education. He is an examiner for the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) exam, ensuring that aspiring surgeons meet the rigorous standards of the profession.
