About Mr Haitham Khashaba

Mr Khashaba is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Woodlands Hospital in Darlington. He sees self-pay patients only.

He is also a full-time Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in the NHS. He has a full licence to practise on the General Medical Council (GMC) and is on the specialist registry for Plastic Surgery. He has a special interest in breast surgery, breast reconstruction, microsurgery and perineal reconstruction.

Currently a consultant at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, Mr Khashaba obtained his master’s degree from The University of Ain Shams in Cairo in 2008. He is a fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons (England) having passed the FRCS (Plast) exam. He is also a fellow of The European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS). He has subsequently gained a wealth of experience in the cosmetic surgery field, which has included working in hospitals in Egypt and Kuwait, as well as in the NHS and private healthcare sectors in the UK.

Mr Khashaba’s career has included time spent as a Breast Microsurgery Fellow at North Bristol NHS Trust and a Plastic Surgery Specialist Registrar at North Bristol NHS Trust, Countess of Chester Hospital and the Manchester Royal Infirmary. He won the Chairman Award and the Award for Excellence in Clinical Care from University Hospital North Durham in 2020.

He is committed to continuing his professional development and to provide the best outcomes for his patients. Mr Khashaba attends conferences and courses which keep him well-versed in developments in his specialist field.

In addition, he has carried out significant medical research during his career and has contributed to scientific papers. Mr Khashaba continues to conduct clinical audits, clinical effectiveness programmes and has made presentations to his peers at national and international levels. He is an active full member of The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and multiple other organisations in the UK. He is a speaker at international conferences and multiple other organisations in the UK, at international conferences, and is a faculty member of multiple national training courses.

In his spare time, Mr Khashaba is a swimming official, enjoys running and participates in humanitarian missions across the globe.
