His special clinical interests include laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, diagnosis and management of gynaecological cancers. He treats the full range of benign and oncological gynaecological conditions. He sees patients with endometriosis, menopausal issues (including HRT management) and menstrual problems amongst other gynaecological conditions.
Laparoscopic surgery requires intensive, specific training, but the key benefit is much better recovery for patients. Mr Geary’s laparoscopic hysterectomy patients will usually require just a night’s stay at The Park Hospital. The majority of patients undergoing ovarian and other minor procedures will go home the same day. He obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists in 2015. He is an accredited Colposcopist with the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. He is actively involved in training medical students and junior doctors, with a particular focus on laparoscopic surgery.
Mr Geary also holds a Masters in Chemistry from Oxford University. He worked in the City of London as a management consultant in business strategy for FTSE 100 companies, before entering medicine as a graduate student in 2005.
Mr Geary has been treating patients at The Park Hospital in Nottingham since 2022. He takes a patient-centred approach to consultations and receives excellent feedback for his listening skills and his calm and approachable manner. He particularly enjoys the personal service and high level of patient care he can deliver for his patients with the team at The Park Hospital.
