Mr Furtado's specialist interests include Urogynaecology, Minimal access surgery (keyhole surgery) , Acute gynaecology & Obstetrics. He is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and is a registered Specialist.
In addition to the full gamut of gynaecology procedures Mr Furtado has special interest in pelvic floor reconstruction, prolapse surgery, vaginal hysterectomy, laparoscopic total hysterectomy, open abdominal hysterectomy, myomectomy, hysteroscopic resection of polyps, abdominal and transvaginal ultrasound scans in early pregnancy and acute gynaecology.
He provides private care in low & high risk Obstetrics Consultations, instrumental deliveries(ventouse/Kiwi/Forceps) & caesarean sections in Wexham Park Hospital.
Mr Glefy can see and consult on children of 16 and above. Whilst most children can be managed without surgery, when it is required, he undertakes this at The Princess Margaret Hospital for children aged 16 and above.
He is recognised by and fee-assured with all the leading medical insurance companies. Self pay patients are also welcome.
He is an Examiner for the RCOG exams and also an Equivalence Adviser for the Equivalence Committee for the RCOG(Certification of entry for the Specialty route).
He is a governance committee member for the British Society of Urogynaecology(BSUG).
