After qualifying as a doctor from the University of Bristol in 2009, she completed her postgraduate specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery. During this time, she trained at various hospitals in the region including the Endometriosis Centres at St Peter’s Hospital, Chertsey and the Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford where she obtained a breadth of experience in managing a variety of complex gynaecological conditions.
Gina takes a calm patient-centred holistic approach to her care and is passionate about promoting and advocating for women’s health. As a full-time working mother of two children, she understands the need for women to deal with their gynaecological problems effectively and efficiently.
She is experienced in looking after women with a range of benign gynaecological problems such as heavy periods, pelvic pain, pain during sex and menopausal symptoms. She is the lead clinician for Ambulatory Gynaecology and is dedicated to enhancing the experience of all women accessing gynaecological care, including leveraging the most relevant and up-to-date technology and practices to get the best health outcome for each woman.
Her particular areas of interest include menstrual problems, pelvic pain, ovarian cysts and fibroids. She specialises in minimal access surgery, including hysteroscopy and laparoscopy.
She is also focused on establishing new and innovative treatments to offer women more choice and autonomy and less invasive options. She is one of few Consultants in the country offering outpatient transcervical radiofrequency ablation for uterine fibroids as a highly effective alternative treatment to hysterectomy or myomectomy.
She has always been passionate about training the doctors of the future and was awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Dundee in 2018. She is actively involved in departmental training in the NHS and is a Severn Deanery trainer for gynaecological surgery.
