In addition to his well-developed skills in open abdominal and vaginal surgery, Mr Haroun performs all outpatient procedures including ultrasound scanning, coil insertion, tissue biopsy, outpatient hysteroscopy just to name a few.
Mr Haroun worked at Neville Hall Hospital in Abergavenny for 4 years and he has been working as a consultant at Prince Charles Hospital since August 2019. He is the obstetric clinical director in Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, he teaches physiological breech birth, physiological fetal heart monitoring and operative vaginal birth, he also provides hands-on training to trainees on hysteroscopic and laparoscopic surgery.
Mr Haroun is a member of the Breech Birth Network, which conducts training courses across the UK, and a national trainer, employed by the Welsh Risk Pool to develop the training program for all Wales on fetal heart monitoring. He is a national and international lecturer, he teaches essential topics on obstetric emergencies and benign gynaecologic surgery to specialists in Lithuania and Lebanon.
Mr Haroun is proud that he speaks 4 languages fluently including English, Arabic, Lithuanian and French. Mr Haroun pays a great deal of attention to women’s mental, physical and emotional condition during his consultations and procedures. His patients describe him as ‘the doctor who listens with his heart and mind’ and his colleagues describe him as the ‘compassionate doctor’. Patient satisfaction is his highest priority, this is why he involves his patients in all the discussions about their care and he explains all their health-related issues in full detail to help them give informed consent to any required intervention.
