About Mr Gavin Love

Personal Profile

Mr Gavin Love is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in hip and knee arthroplasty, trauma and limb reconstruction.

Mr Love has been a Consultant in NHS Tayside since 2012. He qualified from the University of Dundee in 2002, and trained in Tayside and Glasgow, before undertaking specialist fellowships in Lower Limb Arthroplasty and Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital Clydebank and in Limb Reconstruction at the Russian Ilizarov Scientific Centre for Restorative Traumatology and Orthopaedics, Kurgan, Siberia. He also has a diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine.

Mr Love’s clinical practice centres on hip and knee replacement surgery, general orthopaedics, and all aspects of musculoskeletal trauma. He sees patients of all ages for hip and knee replacement surgery and practices enhanced recovery techniques, as well as being able to offer daycase hip replacement.

Mr Love is one of a small number of surgeons in Scotland accredited to perform the Conformis knee replacement, a personalised knee replacement manufactured to fit your own knee, rather than using an "off the shelf" implant. This leads to less pain, higher satisfaction rates and a more natural feeling knee. Mr Love also offers his patients the innovative, customised Episealer knee resurfacing implant.
