About Mr Gavin Brigstocke

Personal Profile

Gavin Brigstocke was brought up in Hampshire and educated at Canford School. He graduated from Guy’s King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in 2004 and undertook his higher orthopaedic training on the South West Thames rotation. Gavin is dual fellowship trained having completed fellowship posts in trauma surgery in New Zealand and hand & wrist surgery at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital. He was appointed as a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at Frimley Park Hospital in 2015.

Gavin has a broad practice encompassing all aspects of hand and wrist surgery with a specific interest in wrist injuries. He has won several awards for his research into motion preserving surgery of the wrist that he has presented internationally and published in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH). He has been awarded the British Diploma in Hand Surgery by the BSSH.

Gavin can see and consult on children of all ages. Whilst most young children can be managed without surgery, when it is required, he undertakes this at The Princess Margaret Hospital for children aged 3 and above. 

Gavin is married to Lisa and has three young children. Away from work he enjoys tennis, skiing, golf and triathlon and has completed Ironman triathlon races in Australia, New Zealand and Wales.
