About Dr Ganesh Sivaji – Consultant Gastroenterologist
Dr Ganesh Sivaji is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust and The Duchy Hospital in Harrogate. He has over 20 years of experience in gastroenterology and specialises in luminal gastroenterology, hepatology and diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
Dr Sivaji trained in India for eight years before moving to the UK in 1998. He completed his specialist gastroenterology training in Yorkshire and was appointed Consultant Gastroenterologist at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust in 2010. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP).
Dr Sivaji has extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a broad range of digestive and gastrointestinal conditions, including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, indigestion, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, coeliac disease, iron deficiency anaemia and swallowing difficulties. He also manages a wide range of liver conditions, including hepatitis B and C, fatty liver disease and cirrhosis.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Sivaji has significant expertise in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, having performed more than 10,000 procedures. His expertise includes colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy, gastroscopy, small bowel capsule studies, PEG and feeding tube placements, and Botox injections to help manage swallowing difficulties.
