Mr Alipour is a consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon based in Tayside. He has been a Trauma & Orthopaedic consultant in NHS Tayside since 2004.

Mr Alipour graduated his medical degree (MBCHB), from University of Dundee in 1991. He has completed his Trauma and Orthopaedic training in Tayside and Inverness, obtaining his FRCS Ed (Trauma & Orthopaedic) qualification in 2001. This was followed by a year of fellowship training at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne, Australia in lower limb arthroplasty (Hip & Knee Replacements), major trauma and reconstructive Orthopaedic surgery. He is fully registered with the General Medical Council as an Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon.

Mr Alipour’s main elective Orthopaedic sub-speciality interests are in hip and knee replacement procedures, as well as knee arthroscopic (key hole) surgery. He has extensive experience in these procedures, both in the NHS and in private health care settings.

Mr Alipour was immediate past lead for the East of Scotland Major Trauma Ward based at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. He has vast experience in the management of acute orthopaedic trauma as well as reconstructive trauma surgery. He has been the clinical governance lead of the Orthopaedic and Trauma department of NHS Tayside (2011-2016). He is a senior clinical teacher to the undergraduate and postgraduate masters students of the University of Dundee.

Mr Alipour has offered private practice treatment from the Fernrae Hospital in Dundee since 2005, and following closure of this unit in April 2019, he has transferred his private practicing privileges and admission rights to the Albyn Hospital in Aberdeen as well as the Kings Park Hospital in Stirling.

Mr Alipour offers consultation clinics on all aspects of hip and knee problems at Kings Park’s outreach clinic at Heal Physiotherapy centre  in Dundee and Tayside Complete Health clinic in Dundee. He undertakes surgical treatments at the Albyn and Kings Park Hospitals in Aberdeen and Stirling respectively. He has preferred provider status with BUPA and AXA PPP insurance companies and has core consultant status with Vitality Heath. Mr Alipour offers consultation to insured and self pay patients.
