Rich Text Component

Mr Fahd Khan is a Consultant Urological Surgeon at City and Sandwell Hospitals, Birmingham. He has a specialist interest in EndoUrology/Stone disease and Men’s Health. He undertook his Urological training from the Yorkshire rotation training programme and was the recipient of the prestigious BAUS/WCE EndoUrology fellowship, where he travelled to Guangzhou, China to learn minimally invasive surgical management of advanced stone disease.

In addition to his sub-specialist practice, Fahd has broad expertise in managing general and malignant urological conditions. Fahd sees patients with a range of symptoms, from lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), urinary tract infections (UTI), testicular lumps and testicular pain, blood in the urine (haematuria) or semen (haematospermia), incontinence and erectile dysfunction. Fahd also sees patients who may have no symptoms, for example men concerned about prostate cancer and wishing to undergo a prostate health check.

Fahd tailors his approach according to his patients’ needs and always discusses the benefits and risks of strategies intended to improve their quality of life. Fahd believes in a shared, holistic, patient-centred approach to surgical decision making that combines his professional expertise with those things that matter most to the patient.

Fahd has published widely in numerous international urological journals and has written three book chapters. In addition, he has had the privilege of presenting over 50 abstracts at the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), American Urological Association (AUA), European association of Urology (EAU) and the World Congress of Endourology (WCE).

As well as busy clinical roles, Fahd has a keen interest in education and is Senior Academic Tutor for University of Birmingham Medical School and Aston University Medical School.
