Your first appointment with Mr Atalla is calm, unhurried and centred around understanding your symptoms. You’ll discuss what you’ve been experiencing and how long symptoms have been present. He will also review any previous scans, test results and your medical history, so bringing these with you is helpful.
If a physical examination is needed, it will be explained clearly beforehand and carried out gently, at your pace. A chaperone is always available, and you’re welcome to bring a partner, friend or family member for support. Appointments usually last 30 minutes, giving you plenty of time to ask questions.
Some treatments, such as outpatient hysteroscopy, biopsies or coil fittings, may be available on the same day if appropriate. If further tests or scans are needed, these can be arranged promptly at The Winterbourne Hospital.
