Mr Erik Havranek is a consultant urological surgeon at Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospitals in Harrow and London. He is trained in all aspects of general urology with a sub-specialist interest in kidney stone disease. He performs minimally invasive laser stone surgery (ureteroscopy), external shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) and percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). He also deals with the medical management of metabolic stone disease.
In addition, he has an interest in female incontinence, erectile dysfunction, circumcision and benign and malignant prostate disease. Having graduated from Imperial College (University of London), he completed basic surgical training at St. Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, and trained in Urology on the North West London Urology rotation.
To further his surgical expertise he completed Fellowships at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane, Australia and at the Stone Unit in Guy’s Hospital. He has an MD in renal cancer from St. George’s Hospital (University of London).
He has published book chapters, peer reviewed articles and presented at international conferences.
He regularly peer reviews journal articles for scientific journals and teaches on revision courses for junior surgeons.
