About Dr Ella Seccombe

Personal Profile

Dr Seccombe trained at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School.  She moved to the Wessex deanery to undertake Specialist Registrar training in Dermatology and was appointed Consultant Dermatologist at University Hospitals Southampton NHS Trust in January 2020.

Dr Seccombe’s NHS role includes general dermatology, skin cancer and skin surgery.  She specialises in all aspects of general dermatology including eczema, acne, psoriasis, hair and nail disease, inflammatory skin disease, excessive sweating as well as benign skin ‘lumps and bumps’, skin cancer and sun damage.  She also has a particular interest in skin disease affecting children and adolescents.  She is a member of the skin cancer MDT in Southampton. 

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Seccombe is the Clinical tutor in Dermatology at University Hospitals, overseeing the training of all junior doctors in the specialty.   Dr Seccombe is also keenly involved with medical student and GP teaching.
