About Mrs Elaine Juzl

Personal Profile

Elaine qualified as a physiotherapist in 1986 and specialised in hand therapy in 1991 at Mount Vernon Hospital, London.  Elaine has worked as a clinical specialist in hand therapy both in the NHS and Private Hospitals. She was involved in the setting-up of the first multi-disciplinary hand surgery and therapy unit in London.

Elaine has an MSc in ergonomics and has a particular interest in work related upper limb disorders. This has influenced the development of an interest in musician’s hands and she was involved in setting up a musician’s clinic at BMI Hendon hospital. Her other special interests within hand therapy include the challenges of treating elite athletes, managing the complex wrist, and the proximal interphalangeal joint post trauma.

Elaine teaches on hand therapy courses on a regular basis throughout the UK and internationally. She is one of three partners in NES Hand Therapy Training LLP.

Between 2001 and 2006 Elaine was part of the education committee for the British Association of Hand Therapists which plays a significant role in developing and maintaining education for hand therapists throughout the UK
