Dr Eileen Baildam is a Consultant Paediatric and Adolescent Rheumatologist consulting at The Alexandra Hospital, with 13 years as a Consultant Paediatric Rheumatologist at The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and then 13 years at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr Baildam is heavily involved in charity work and is on the Chair of Trustees for Claire House, a children's hospice based in the Wirral. She runs a medico-legal practice and consults on a part-time basis at Alder Hey Children's Foundation NHS Trust, where she is involved in paediatric rheumatology research. Dr Baildam's research is widely cited in rheumatology literature, and she is currently involved in several active studies.

She has been involved in many trials of new drugs in the treatment of rheumatological diseases, such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and systemic lupus.

She is a member of the oversight committee for the 2 biologic registries in JIA, and was a member of the Experimental Arthritis Treatment Centre at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. She has an ongoing research interest in how stem cells work in JIA.
