Ed Holloway is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Chesterfield Royal Hospital practicing Hip and Knee surgery. He has a subspecialty interest in Revision Arthroplasty and the management of peri-prosthetic fractures and prosthetic joint infection.

Ed graduated from the University of Leeds and completed his Orthopaedic Higher Surgical training on the South Yorkshire rotation. He has completed 2 years of sub-specialty fellowship training. He spent a year in Toronto, Canada completing a Lower Limb Arthroplasty Fellowship affiliated to the University of Toronto. The second Fellowship was back in Leeds at the highly regarded Chapel Allerton Hospital. During this second Fellowship he completed a course in Strategic Leadership and Management with the Chartered Management Institute.

Ed is active in research and has presented nationally and internationally. He has written book chapters and articles relating to Lower Limb Arthroplasty and for trainees revising for exams.

At Chesterfield Royal, Ed is Audit and Governance Lead and coordinates the education programmes for Undergraduate students and Junior Doctors rotating through the Orthopaedic department. He sits on the Medical Education, Thromboprophylaxis and Thrombosis Committees.

Outside work, Ed is a keen road and off-road cyclist and enjoys watching his 2 young sons playing football and rugby for local clubs.
