Dr Gladston Chelliah is a highly experienced Consultant Rheumatologist on the Specialist Register, having qualified in 1985. His advanced training included two years at the University of Birmingham and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital—internationally recognised centres for vasculitis and connective tissue disorders.
Since 2005, Dr Chelliah has served as a Consultant in Rheumatology at Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust, delivering a high‑quality, evidence‑based and patient‑centred service.
A passionate educator, he provides regular teaching sessions for junior doctors, General Practitioners, multi‑disciplinary teams, patients, and medical students. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire and a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Medicine at the University of Bolton.
Dr Chelliah is committed to continuous improvement in patient care, undertaking regular clinical audits. He is also actively involved in a number of research initiatives, including multi-centre research projects.
