About Mr Drummond Mansbridge

Personal Profile

Mr Mansbridge was a medical student at The University, Glasgow and graduated in 1993. His first training post was at The Victoria Infirmary in Glasgow in the Orthopaedic wards, culminating in a further 13 years training throughout Specialist Centres in the West of Scotland before becoming a consultant in 2005. He currently works at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, the New Victoria Hospital and privately at Ross Hall Hospital in Glasgow.

Mr Mansbridge has specialist interest in hip and knee replacement surgery, the investigation and management of hip pain, hip bursitis, hip tendinitis and hip sports injury.

He also has expertise in the management of knee sports injury including surgery for cartilage problems and the investigation of ligament injuries, bursitis and tendon issues.

Mr Mansbridge has a keen interest in teaching and examining, he is the Director of Surgical Education at The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, and is their Member on the Post Graduate Committee for Orthopaedic Training for the West of Scotland. He has a Diploma in Post Graduate Education from The Royal College.

He is an examiner for the College of Surgeons of Central, Eastern, and Southern Africa (COSECSA), spending time every year travelling to sub-Saharan Africa to examine their trainees.

Mr Mansbridge is the Honorary Orthopaedic and Trauma Consultant for Rangers Football Club, investigating and managing the First Team Squad and Football Academy athletes.

In his spare time Mr Mansbridge enjoys playing and watching football, watching his girls play hockey, cycling, tennis, running, rowing and walking his dogs.
