About Miss Donna Ghosh

Personal Profile

Miss Donna Ghosh is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Droitwich Spa Hospital, specialising in endometriosis, pelvic pain and advanced laparoscopic gynaecological surgery.

Donna is committed to providing compassionate, individualised care and understands the significant impact that gynaecological conditions can have on everyday life. She takes the time to explain treatment options clearly, helping patients make informed decisions about their care. Where surgery is appropriate, she uses minimally invasive techniques wherever possible, with a focus on carefully planned, evidence-based treatment.

Alongside her work at Droitwich Spa Hospital, Donna is the Clinical Lead for the Worcestershire Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Service at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, where she has been a Consultant since 2018. Her NHS practice includes complex endometriosis, advanced laparoscopic and robotic gynaecological surgery, as well as the multidisciplinary management of women and adolescents with endometriosis and pelvic pain.

Donna graduated in Medicine from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Medical School in London before completing her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Southwest Peninsula. She went on to undertake specialist training in advanced laparoscopic surgery and complex endometriosis through a national fellowship at Wirral University Teaching Hospital. She has also undertaken further surgical training at the Sydney Women's Endosurgery Centre through a BSGE Travelling Fellowship.

Donna is actively involved in research, education and the development of surgical expertise. She is Chief Investigator of the ADDEND study, which is investigating a non-invasive diagnostic test for endometriosis, and has been selected as a clinical expert for NICE in the evaluation of emerging diagnostic technologies in endometriosis care.

She is also Honorary Secretary of the British Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (BSGE), having previously held leadership responsibility for laparoscopic training. Donna founded the BSGE RIGs national training programme and is the founder and lead of GRASP (Gynaecological Response to the Acute Surgical Presentation), an immersive simulation-based training programme designed to improve surgical knowledge, decision-making and multidisciplinary teamworking.

Donna regularly contributes to national and international conferences and professional meetings, sharing her expertise in endometriosis, advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery, surgical education, simulation and patient safety.
