Personal Profile
Dr Mort has been a consultant neurologist since 2007 and in full-time private practice since 2013. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of adult neurological conditions.
His aim is always to provide a clear understanding to patients of what they have wrong with them and how it might be treated.
He qualified as a doctor with honours in 1993, having read medicine at Oxford University and the Medical College of St Bartholomew’s Hospital. At Bart’s, he was awarded jointly the CC Frears in Clinical Neurology and spent his elective period at the Department of Neurology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. As a junior doctor he worked at teaching hospitals across London in all the major acute medical specialties.
After completing research for his doctoral thesis at Imperial College, specialist training in Clinical Neurology took him through four regional neuroscience units, including The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square.
He has a strong interest in medical teaching and has received a number of awards for lecture and ward-based teaching to students and doctors over the years.
Dr Mort was appointed consultant at Chase Farm Hospital and The Royal Free Hospital in 2007. In 2013, he moved into private practice full-time.
