About Daren Subar

Personal Profile

Mr. Subar undertook his core surgical training in the North West.

He then under took a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) at the University of Manchester, studying the chemical interactions that promote the spread of colorectal cancer to the liver. This research was funded by the charity HALT(Help Against Liver Tumours)

Mr. Subar then undertook his higher surgical training in the North West (Manchester) undergoing specific training in hepato-pancreaticobiliary surgical diseases(HPB). He then undertook further training in HPB in Paris, France with a special focus on minimal access (keyhole) surgery. He spearheaded the development of major laparoscopic liver and pancreatic surgery at ELHT and is presently the Lead for Robotic liver and Pancreatic Surgery in ELHT

Mr. Subar works closely in a multidisciplinary HPB team allowing him to provide the best possible care to his patients. 

Mr. Subar's Clinical Interests include:

  • Minimal access (keyhole) surgery
  • Robotic Surgery
  • Pancreatic, liver, gallbladder and bile duct surgery
  • Surgery on umbilical and inguinal hernias
  • Excision of lumps and bumps
