Mr Guta graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Ovidius" Constanta, Romania, in 2004. Prior to studying Medicine, he completed a Bachelor Degree in Physiotherapy and Kinesiotherapy at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Carol Davila.

He began his specialist orthopaedic training at Foisor University Hospital in Bucharest, one of Romania's established orthopaedic centres, before moving to the UK in 2010 to further develop his expertise.

During his UK training, Mr Guta worked within respected orthopaedic and arthroplasty units, including a major joint replacement centre in Birmingham where he developed a particular interest in soft tissue balancing techniques for total knee replacement. He also completed a Trauma Fellowship at Southampton General Hospital, gaining valuable experience within a busy major trauma centre.

Following further specialist fellowship training in Lower Limb Arthroplasty, Mr Guta developed expertise in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery, knee arthroscopy and a wide range of elective knee procedures.

Mr Guta has been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Withybush General Hospital since 2023 and also performs elective lower limb arthroplasty at Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli.
