About Mr Daniel Cadoux-Hudson

Daniel Cadoux-Hudson Personal Profile

Mr Daniel Cadoux-Hudson is a Consultant Hand and Wrist Surgeon practising privately at the Circle Hospital, Reading. He also holds a substantive NHS Consultant post at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, where he provides specialist hand and wrist services. He treats both self-pay and insured patients and welcomes referrals from GPs, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals.

Mr Cadoux-Hudson specialises exclusively in hand and wrist surgery, offering expert assessment and management of both common and complex conditions affecting the upper limb. His practice encompasses elective surgery, trauma, and degenerative conditions, with a strong emphasis on personalised care and evidence-based decision making.

He qualified in medicine from Imperial College London in 2012, graduating with a Distinction in Medicine. He also completed an intercalated BSc in Surgery and Anaesthesia, where his early research focused on orthopaedic implant science. Following foundation training in London, he undertook Core Surgical Training and Higher Specialist Training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery on the Wessex rotation, completing his Certificate of Completion of Training in 2023.

To further develop advanced expertise in hand and wrist surgery, Mr Cadoux-Hudson completed a prestigious Post-CCT Fellowship at the Birmingham Hand Unit, one of the UK’s leading centres for hand surgery. During this period, he gained comprehensive experience in complex hand trauma, wrist arthroscopy, joint replacement, ligament reconstruction, and nerve surgery. He was awarded the British Diploma in Hand Surgery in 2025.

Alongside his clinical training, Mr Cadoux-Hudson has maintained a strong academic and research interest. He has held an Orthopaedic Research UK Fellowship and is currently completing an MD degree at the University of Southampton. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and contributed to book chapters in hand surgery, with research interests including wrist arthritis, fracture healing, advanced imaging, and patient-reported outcome measures.

Patients value Mr Cadoux-Hudson’s calm, approachable manner and his commitment to clear communication. He believes that a successful outcome starts with listening carefully to each patient’s concerns and goals. Consultations are unrushed, with time taken to explain diagnoses and treatment options in plain language. Where possible, non-surgical treatments are explored first, and when surgery is indicated, care plans are tailored to the individual.

Mr Cadoux-Hudson works closely with specialist hand therapists, radiologists, and pain specialists to ensure coordinated, multidisciplinary care. His approach focuses on optimising recovery, restoring function, and enabling patients to return safely to work, sport, and everyday activities.

In addition to his clinical work, he is actively involved in teaching and training junior doctors and surgeons and has held several regional and national leadership roles. His NHS practice is well regarded for its clinical outcomes, governance standards, and patient satisfaction.

Outside of medicine, Mr Cadoux-Hudson has represented Great Britain in rowing at in junior age categories and has had success at national and international level. Heremains keenly interested in sport and fitness. He enjoys skiing, cycling, and spending time outdoors with his family.
