Ms Corneils Poitelea is a highly experienced Consultant Ophthalmologist at Goring Hall Hospital, specialising in the treatment of cataracts, post-cataract conditions, eyelid and lacrimal diseases, and glaucoma. Her expertise includes managing inward- and outward-turning eyelids, skin cancers, watery eyes, droopy eyelids, excess eyelid skin removal, and optic nerve damage due to high eye pressure.

Ms Poitelea trained extensively in ophthalmology, working alongside world-renowned specialists. She completed her specialist ophthalmic training in London and the South East, before pursuing advanced fellowships in Oculoplastic and Lacrimal Surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Queen Victoria Hospital.

In 2014, she was appointed as a full-time Consultant Ophthalmologist at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, where she serves as the Oculoplastics Subspecialist Lead at Worthing General Hospital and St Richard’s Hospital. Alongside her oculoplastics expertise, she provides cataract, glaucoma, and general ophthalmology treatment.

Passionate about education, Ms Poitelea has held the role of College Tutor, training junior doctors in ophthalmology. She is an active contributor to national and international conferences, presenting her work and staying at the forefront of advancements in eye care.
