Personal Profile
Mr Colin Walker qualified in 1987 from St Andrews and Manchester Universities. Following orthopaedic training posts in Glasgow, Brisbane, and Manchester, he took a position in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he developed an interest in knee ligament reconstruction, joint replacement surgery and patellar stabilisation. This interest was further pursued through travelling fellowships in Canada and North America.
Since 1998, Mr Walker has been a consultant at the Southern General and Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
In his spare time, Colin Walker is a keen cyclist and skier. He also spends times working for a number of medical charities in the developing world including the Halo Trust, Mandritsara Hospital in a remote area of Madagascar, and for the UK emergency disaster response team UK-Med.
