Mr Elton has extensive experience in treating Bowel Cancer, with results amongst the best surgeons in the UK. Initially as a trainee in a Sydney, Australia teaching hospital, he increased his experience in the UK.  He has received training from Prof Torbjorn Holm (Sweden), Prof Pfeffer (Norway) and Mr Brendan Moran (Peritoneal Malignancies, Basingstoke).

He runs HALO haemorrhoid courses for consultants in the UK, teaching this relatively new procedure.

He has trained many registrars over his 18 years as a Consultant and many of these are now in high profile Consultant jobs in the UK.

He ran a RCS approved course, teaching hernia repair and gallbladder surgery to trainees in 4 days.

He also has a specialist interest in hernia repairs under local anaesthesia, particularly for high risk patients where general anaesthesia may not be appropriate.
