Dr Chintu Gademsetty is a Consultant Radiologist specialising in musculoskeletal imaging, as well as orthopaedics, rheumatology and sports imaging.

Training and Appointment

Dr Chintu Gademsetty qualified from the University of Nottingham in 2004 with MB BS and BMedsci (Hons). He completed his basic surgical training through which he developed an interest in orthopaedics and attained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in 2007. Following a year as an anatomy demonstrator and research fellow at Guys and St Thomas’ under Professor Harold Ellis, he secured a radiology training position at Barts Health.

Upon completion of three years of general radiology training, Dr Gademsetty spent a year in industry working for Norgine Pharmaceuticals, a European specialist pharmaceutical company. He gained commercial experience with particular interest in medical marketing and health economic market access. He was integral in launching XIFAXANTA to the UK market and its submission to NICE.

As a senior registrar he gained his FRCR in 2012 and went on to undertake musculoskeletal subspecialty training at Barts Health. His experience afforded him expertise in orthopaedic, rheumatology and sports imaging and in performing therapeutic and diagnostic joint and spine injections. 

Current Practice

Dr Gademsetty was appointed as a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in 2014 and supported the imaging for the Rugby World Cup 2015. He has a weekly clinic for private patients at Mount Alvernia Hospital.
