About Caroline Merrick

Personal Profile

Caroline trained as a Physiotherapist at Guy's Hospital completing her core skills, before moving on to St Thomas's Hospital where she specialised in treating Orthopaedic and Rheumatology patients. She joined the Physiotherapy Department at Mount Alvernia treating MSK Outpatients before completing further training in the treatment of hand wrist and elbow pathologies.

Caroline sees both private and NHS patients and works closely with local Consultants and GPs. Following a detailed assessment, she discusses the diagnosis, patient concerns and difficulties relating to their problem which enables her to plan an evidence based rehabilitation programme, adjusting it to fit with hobbies, work and lifestyle.

Caroline enjoys treating a variety of conditions including finger and thumb injuries, tendonitis, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, RSI, fractures, Dupuytren's and soft tissue trauma to the hand, wrist and elbow. She is a member of BAHT and the BMI Hand Therapy Special Interest Group. Caroline has attended external courses and study days to improve her knowledge and skills.

Caroline works 2 days a week at Mount Alvernia Hospital.
