Dr Brian O’Rourke is a Consultant Cardiologist specialising in coronary intervention and cardiac device therapy at University Hospital Hairmyres. He graduated from Aberdeen University Medical School in 1992 and subsequently moved to the Royal Brompton & Harefield Hospital in London to undergo specialist training in Cardiology. Dr O’Rourke returned to the West of Scotland in 2005 being appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist & Physician at Hairmyres Hospital. Since taking up this post he has been involved in numerous service developments whilst remaining active in research, medical education and cardiology registrar training. He has been Lead Cardiologist at Hairmyres since 2009.
