As the Lead Editor for two academic textbooks on Urinary Tract Infections and Male Incontinence published by Springer-Nature, Professor Yang continues to be a pioneering figure in his field, establishing himself as a global leader in urological research and practice.
Professor Bob Yang is a substantive NHS Urology Consultant at Royal Berkshire Hospital, specialising in complex and recurrent urinary tract infections, male and female incontinence, sacral neuromodulation, and functional urology.
Complementing his clinical practice, he is an Associate Lecturer at Oxford University and holds the distinguished position of Director for the American Urological Association and International Continence Society Male Incontinence course.
Currently, he is pursuing a PhD (DPhil) in Bioengineering at the University of Oxford and serves as the Vice-Chair of the Bohunt Wokingham Governors Board.
Professor Yang’s clinics provide comprehensive care for recurrent UTIs, incontinence, and general urological concerns. His expertise in incontinence includes a full spectrum of diagnostic tools, such as specialist urodynamics bladder studies.
He is proficient in a wide range of the latest treatments for BPH enlarged prostates.
For male incontinence, he specialises in the adjustable ‘male sling’ and artificial urinary sphincter (AMS 800 and ZSI 375).
For women, he offers minimally invasive urethral bulking for mild to moderate cases, as well as “mesh-free” autologous slings and colposuspensions for more severe conditions.
Professor Yang also provides a complete range of ‘antibiotic-free’ treatment options for recurrent UTIs, notably including the latest bladder instillations to soothe inflammation and protect the bladder lining against bacterial invasion. Furthermore, he has been at the forefront of UTI vaccine Uromune MV140 research in the UK.
