Mr Bala Reddy is a highly experienced Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon whose main practice is based at Droitwich Spa Hospital. He specialises in laparoscopic colorectal surgery, hernia surgery, colorectal cancer treatment, and diagnostic endoscopy, including colonoscopy procedures.
Mr Reddy qualified in Medicine in India before completing his higher surgical training in Yorkshire. During his training, he received several prestigious awards for his research into gut barrier function and the restoration of bowel function following major surgery. His achievements include the renowned Moynihan Medal from the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, the Syme Medal from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and the Leeds Regional Surgical Club Medal.
In 2012, Mr Reddy was awarded his Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and appointed as a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. He later completed an advanced laparoscopic colorectal fellowship in Portsmouth, where he trained alongside leading colorectal surgeon Professor Amjit Parvaiz.
Mr Reddy has played a key role in developing minimally invasive surgical services across Worcestershire, including introducing laparoscopic hernia surgery at The Alexandra Hospital and expanding access to laparoscopic colorectal surgery for patients in Redditch and Kidderminster.
With extensive experience in colorectal and general surgery, Mr Reddy is committed to delivering high-quality patient care using advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques to support faster recovery and improved outcomes.
