Dr Babur Javaid is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with extensive experience in the assessment and management of a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. His practice covers both general gastroenterology and more specialist areas, with a focus on delivering clear, evidence-based care.

Dr Javaid has trained and worked in gastroenterology and general internal medicine in the UK since 1995, gaining experience alongside recognised experts in the field which has equipped him well for dealing with both common and complex digestive disorders.

Dr Javaid has a particular clinical interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. As a clinical lead for IBD services, he is involved in the organisation and delivery of care for patients with these long-term conditions. His work includes diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management, often coordinating care with specialist nurses and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

He also has an interest in Barrett’s oesophagus, including its monitoring and management. This involves regular assessment where appropriate, with a focus on identifying and managing any changes at an early stage.

A significant part of Dr Javaid’s work involves endoscopy, including both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
