About Mr Azi Samsudin

Personal Profile

Mr Samsudin graduated from Cardiff Medical School in 1996 and completed his training in Urology in 2008. He was appointed as Consultant Urologist in Whiston Hospital, Merseyside that same year.

He has a busy practice and is the Lead surgeon for Stone Disease. His main interests are complex stone disease and surgery for benign prostate hyperplasia. He is involved in post-graduate teaching and regularly sits on the faculty of Endourology courses.

During his time in Whiston, he has introduced and established various services such as day-case Botox for overactive bladder, ESWL, supine PCNL and single use flexible Ureteroscopy using suction sheaths.

He has an interest in military surgery and joined the Territorial Army after medical school. In 1999, he was commissioned as an officer and served in the British Army in Kuwait and Basra during the 2003 Iraq War.
