Dr Aye Seint Naing is a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology/General Internal Medicine.

Training and Appointment

Dr Naing completed her medical degree at King's College Hospital, London in 2005. She completed her registrar training in 2016 having spent the last few years of her training at St George's Hospital, Tooting as a specialist registrar in Diabetes and Endocrinology. Dr Naing was elected fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2020.

She was appointed as a consultant at Frimley Park Hospital in 2017. Since her appointment, Dr Naing has set up a parathyroid/complex thyroid MDT, written several clinical guidelines and co-lead the antenatal diabetes/endocrine service.

She has a keen interest in antenatal diabetes, thyroid/parathyroid and the management of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. She is a member of an expert reference group to set up a national diabetes audit. She promotes patient education and raising public awareness by providing patient and GP education events.

Research and Teaching

Dr Naing is the Foundation Year Two Programme Director at Frimley and is widely involved in medical education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

She has written several local clinical guidelines and been involved in Quality Improvement Projects/Audits at both local and national level. Her most recent research has covered GLP-1 analogue therapy. In addition, Dr Naing is interested in diabetes-related research and novel therapies.

Current Practice

As Dr Naing is dual accredited as both Consultant Physician, Diabetologist and Endocrinologist, she is very happy to see a variety of different patients in her clinic at Mount Alvernia.
