Mr Aethele Khunda has been a Consultant Gynaecologist at Woodlands Hospital since 2010.

He sees self-pay patients and insured patients.

After graduating from medical school in 1996, he completed his junior medical training in and around London. This included training in sexual health. Mr Khunda then moved up to Leeds in 2002 to do his registrar jobs in Yorkshire. He completed his training in 2008 and was appointed as a Consultant Gynaecologist at James Cook University Hospital in the same year.

Mr Khunda has special skills in incontinence and prolapse surgery. He receives tertiary referrals from consultant colleagues and GPs for patients who suffer from these conditions and require neuromodulation surgery or minimal access (keyhole) surgery. He also has an interest in period problems and menopause care.

He has an active interest in research and innovation and has presented his work in international conferences and published in peer-reviewed medical journals. His research work has been cited by other researchers over 600 times resulting in an h-index of 11. He has written two book chapters and one electronic module. He is a member of the research committee of the British Society of Urogynaecologists.

He also enjoys teaching and training and regularly gets invited to give talks at national and international scientific conferences. Mr Khunda delivers educational and charitable work in developing countries and enjoys spending time with his family and playing chess as a hobby.
