Personal Profile

Mr Paul qualified in 1983 and obtained his FRCS in 1987. He became an Orthopaedic Registrar in 1988 and worked up until the end of 1991 as a Registrar. In this role, he worked at Trafford General Hospital, Wythenshawe Hospital, Ancoats Hospital, Booth Hall Hospital and Hope Hospital.

In 1992, he obtained a Senior Registrar post and worked in the Royal Preston Hospital for 8 months. Thereafter, he spent 16 months at Hope Hospital and Pendlebury. He also spent 8 months as a Senior Registrar at North Manchester General Hospital, Ancoats Hospital and Booth Hall Hospital.

Mr Paul completed a 6 month fellowship in Upper Limb Surgery at Wrightington Hospital before he was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in upper limb and knee surgery at the Manchester Royal Infirmary in 1994.

Mr Paul has published over 100 papers, several of which are on upper limb surgery, knee surgery, trauma and soft tissue tumours, and has over 14 year's experience of preparing reports on medical negligence in relation to Orthopaedics, Trauma and Sarcoma.

He has carried out in excess of 2,000 hip replacements, 2,000 knee replacements and 15,000 keyhole operations.
