About Miss Archana Dixit

Personal Profile

Ms Archana Dixit is a highly experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, offering compassionate, personalised care to women across all life stages. Her NHS practice is based at West Middlesex University Hospital, Isleworth, and she also sees patients privately in London.

Ms Dixit began her medical career in India, graduating in 1993 before completing her MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the esteemed Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi in 1998. After working at the same institution, she moved to Muscat, Oman, where she gained valuable clinical experience treating a socio-culturally diverse female population. This background helped shape her inclusive and culturally sensitive approach to care.

In the UK, Ms Dixit trained in the Northwest Thames region, primarily at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where she worked alongside some of the country’s leading figures in women’s health. In recognition of her academic and clinical excellence, she was awarded the Gold Medal in the Membership examination of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 2001.

With over 25 years of experience, Ms Dixit has developed specialist expertise in high-risk pregnancies, medical disorders in pregnancy, and labour ward leadership. She is the clinical lead for Endocrine Disorders and HIV in Pregnancy at West Middlesex University Hospital, where she also plays a key role in training future doctors as RCOG College Tutor and Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London.

Ms Dixit is proficient in both medical and surgical management, offering procedures such as hysteroscopy, laparoscopy (‘keyhole’ surgery), vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy, and myomectomy. She is committed to ensuring that each patient receives an individualised, evidence-based treatment plan tailored to their specific health needs and preferences.

She works closely with a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, endocrinologists, fertility experts and radiologists to ensure that patients benefit from a holistic, joined-up approach to care. Her patients often commend her ability to explain complex medical information clearly, and for creating a calm, supportive atmosphere during consultations.

Ms Dixit’s approach is centred around empowering women to take charge of their health. Her patients value her empathetic manner, clear communication, and the time she dedicates to understanding their concerns.

Outside of clinical work, Ms Dixit enjoys reading, music, and exploring different cultures through travel. She is also deeply involved in mentoring junior doctors and advocating for better health outcomes for women.

She was proud to be a finalist in the 2018 Asian Women of Achievement Awards in the Professions category, a testament to her dedication and excellence in women’s health.
