Mr Gould attended Sheffield Medical School from 2003-2008. As a Junior Doctor he gained exposure to multiple surgical specialities including General Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Orthopaedics.
He became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2011. In 2011 he moved down to the Wessex Deanery to continue his surgical training.
Mr Gould found his passion in Orthopaedics and was successful in obtaining a registrar training number, undertaking three years of dedicated Foot & Ankle training posts. Following this, he completed an ‘In training’ fellowship at Queen Alexendra Hospital, Portsmouth, Under the tutelage of the current BOA president Mr Simon Hodkinson.
Once he had completed his registrar training he subsequently completed two further ‘Post CCT’ fellowships, one at The Great Western Hospital and a subsequent fellowship with the previous British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (BOFAS) president- Mr Heath Taylor.
Mr Gould was appointed at The Great Western Hospital (GWH) in April 2020, where he has worked since in conjunction with Mr John Grice as a dedicated Foot & Ankle, Trauma & Orthopaedic Consultant.
Over his career, Mr Gould has presented at regional, national and international conferences and has several dedicated foot and ankle publications to his name. Mr Gould is a keen teacher and has been nominated as 'Trainer of the Year’ for the Oxford deanery registrars.
Within his NHS practice, he is the Medical Education Lead for Trauma and Orthopaedics, and he continues to have a keen interest in research and development.
Mr Gould’s operative range includes all surgeries related to the foot and Ankle. Mr Gould regularly performs complex elective and trauma procedures involving the lower leg, hindfoot, midfoot and forefoot.
Mr Gould performs Ankle replacements and has recently attended a visitation trip to a nationally renowned leader in the field. In collaboration, Mr Gould and Mr Grice are continuing to develop a special interest in ankle replacement surgery and are attracting more and more cases within their immediate region.
Mr Gould has a particular interest in hindfoot deformity as well as issues relating to the Achilles tendon foot and ankle ligament structures and forefoot problems.
360 degree multi-source feedback continues to demonstrate Mr Gould has outstanding communication skills, delivering the highest standards of care to his patients.
In his free time, Mr Gould enjoys discovering the highlights of the Wiltshire countryside, he is a keen sports enthusiast and is developing his interest in Golf, when time permits!
