About Anna Wills

Anna Wills is an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist (APP), with 22 years’ experience. Her role includes working as an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist alongside an Orthopaedic consultant in the assessment and management of orthopaedic lower limb conditions. Anna's role as an APP also enables her to order appropriate investigations such as MRI, Ultrasound or X-ray for management of injuries or conditions.

In addition, Anna now works as a First Contact Practitioner for a local GP surgery as the first point of contact for musculoskeletal conditions. In this role she works outside usual practice as a Physiotherapist in primary care, supporting the General practitioners in seeing NHS patients. In this role she manages musculoskeletal conditions that would usually seen by the GP.
Anna has specialised in Musculoskeletal Outpatients and has a particular interest in sports and soft tissue injuries and biomechanics. She is experienced in post-operative rehabilitation of orthopaedic conditions and in assessing and treating patients' biomechanics. The management of her patients also includes the use of Shockwave Therapy for patients with problems such as achilles tendinopathy, patella tendinopathy and plantar fascia related pain.

In her current practice , Anna is an experienced brace fitter for Ossur and Donjoy braces for lower limb problems such as osteoarthritis, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction or deficiency.

Anna is a qualified APPI Pilates Instructor and a AACP Registered Acupuncturist, treating musculoskeletal conditions.

During her career, Anna has worked for the British Army; this included being a Professionally Qualified Officer in the Royal Army Medical Corps. In these roles Anna was involved in management and rehabilitation of service personnel as well supporting Army Rugby and Army Winter Sports teams. Anna also worked in New Zealand as a Physiotherapist and before this as a Physiotherapist in the NHS.
