Mrs Sonsale specialises and performs all forms of general ENT surgeries such as tonsillectomy, laryngology surgery for voice-related problems, laryngeal framework (surgery that alters the cartilage of the voice box), endoscopy, parathyroid, and removal of neck lumps. Anita performs all these surgeries in both the NHS and the private sector. She works closely with a speech and language therapist, a singing coach and a neurophysiologist.
Mrs Sonsale has a keen interest in patients with parathyroid problems i.e. hypercalcaemia and hyperparathyroidism and works closely with endocrinologists. She is a clinical tutor and lead for Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) applications for University Hospitals Birmingham and is part of the Faculty for Simulation Training. Simulation training has been crucial for trainee doctors and is an accredited supervisor for the trainees.
Mrs Sonsale also treats voice-related problems and offers surgery as well as benign tumours in the parathyroid glands (parathyroid adenoma).
