About Mr Andy Chin

Personal Profile

Mr Chin is an ENT Consultant Surgeon based in NHS Lanarkshire. He studied medicine and graduated with Honours from the National University of Ireland, Cork, in 1999. He has lived in Glasgow for over 25 years and undertook his ENT training on the West of Scotland rotation. He was appointed as a Consultant ENT surgeon in 2013.

Mr Chin is an honorary clinical senior lecturer with Glasgow University and is a surgical educator for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He is also an advisor for the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties in Scotland. He is the Clinical Lead for ENT and balance services in Lanarkshire. He is also the lead clinician for ENT in the Scottish Government Modernising Patient Pathways Project and Centre for Sustainable Delivery.

Mr Chin has interests in hearing loss, ear operations (open, endoscopic and laser techniques), balance disorders, tinnitus, nasal obstruction, sinus surgery and other general ENT conditions. For paediatric ENT surgery, Mr Chin offers treatments for hearing loss/glue ear, snoring, sleep disordered breathing, nasal obstruction, recurrent tonsillitis, ear infections and prominent ears (pinnaplasty). He is also happy to help children with balance issues and tinnitus.

He is heavily involved in NHS service improvement projects and has set up new balance and innovative hearing loss and tinnitus services in Lanarkshire. He also teaches ear surgery at Glasgow University and is faculty for multiple Royal College ENT courses in Glasgow. He teaches audiology students at Glasgow Caledonian University and participates in the general practice education seminars.
