About Dr Andrew Visioli

Personal Profile

Mr Visioli obtained his first degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the New South Wales University in Sydney, Australia in 1981. (MB, BS). He then entered the Australian NHS Hospital system in a surgical stream training career and obtained the First Part Exam for the College of Surgeons in Australia in 1984. After 6 year he changed career direction and worked as radiology registrar obtaining my First Part Exam for the College of Radiologists and then switched to Radiation Oncology, within the same Training College.

He has now been a qualified oncologist for over 21 years; if the training years are counted that will be 26 years and a total of 34 years as a medical doctor. He spent fourteen years from 2001 to 2014 as a full time consultant in clinical oncology, in Breast and Lung Cancers Kent Oncology Centre (KOC), responsible for these oncology services also at Darent Valley Hospital, Kent UK. Full time consultant in clinical oncology based at the Kent Oncology Centre (KOC), Maidstone Kent but main practice at the Darent Valley Hospital (DVH).

Main specialities in lung and breast cancers. Close interest in Trials and Research. Breast Cancer: Responsible for all oncological care, which included decision management for which treatments to be given after surgery, whether hormonal treatments, chemotherapy, which chemotherapy and or radiotherapy and how it was given at DVH.

Clinical Interests

Main interests or major specialties are in Breast and Lung cancer.

His third interests are in skin cancers. Particularly in breast cancers he feels it is important for an oncologist to contribute to management early on.
