Mr Smith treats all common hand problems including carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger and Dupuytren's disease and works with dedicated experienced hand therapists.

Mr Smith also treats more complex problems of the hand and wrist. He carries out wrist replacement surgery for arthritis and Ulna head replacements for arthritis of the distal radioulna joint. Mr Smith also carries out finger and thumb base joint replacement for arthritis. He has presented at the British Society for Surgery of the Hand and at national instruction courses on these topics.

He has previously been the hand surgery lead for East Kent Hospitals NHS trust. When not at work he enjoys keeping fit, cycling and has competed in 4 ironman races.
