Mr Andrew Quaile provides opinions, investigations and treatment options on all spinal conditions other than deformity.  He supervises physical therapy and performs non-operative interventions, including epidurals, nerve root blocks, facet joint blocks and radiofrequency denervation).  He also provides opinions on surgical conditions in the spine and will refer appropriately if necessary.
Alongside his private practice, he is Medical Director of a private orthopaedic spine practice, Spineworks Ltd.

Training and Appointment - Mr Andrew Quaile qualified from Charing Cross Hospital in 1978 and spent a number of years practising medicine in the Royal Navy.  He completed his orthopaedic surgical training at Southampton General Hospital, in the UK. On accreditation as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in 1992, he developed his career in Australia initially as a Consultant in Orthopaedics in the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps, as a Lt. Colonel, and thereafter in full time private practice with a special interest in spines based at St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital in Brisbane.
Upon his return to the UK, he was appointed as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon for the NHS in Somerset and then as Consultant Spinal Orthopaedic Surgeon at Frimley Park Hospital, Frimley, Surrey. In 2003 he set up a private practice, Spineworks, which aims to provide the highest quality of care and treatment to patients with back and neck problems.  
Mr Quaile continues to be committed to offering the highest quality of treatment and care to his patients.

Publications and lectures - Mr Quaile is regularly invited to give lectures and seminars to both medical colleagues and allied health practitioners. In September 2008, Andrew was a finalist in the Independent Health Care Awards, held in London, in the category of Best Medical Practice. Previously he has been medical advisor to the Back Show Exhibition held annually in the UK and has advised BMI Healthcare on spinal services over the years. Mr Quaile is a founder member of the South East Spine Club, whose meetings provide an opportunity for spinal surgeons to present papers, discuss new advances in treatment and review difficult cases.
Mr Quaile is the Deputy Editor of the journal, International Orthopaedics and an examiner in Orthopaedics for the Société Internationale de Chirurgie Orthopédique et de Traumatologie (SICOT).  
Before leaving Australia, he was a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Queensland in Brisbane.  In the past he has also lectured at the University of Surrey and is an occasional lecturer in spinal surgery on the South Thames Training Circuit.

Current Practice - Since 2013 Mr Quaile has specialised in the non-operative treatment of spines. If he sees a patient who requires surgery, he is happy to refer to colleagues and has good links with surgeons locally.
