Mr Pearse is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist focus on knee surgery. His main private practice is based at Droitwich Spa Hospital. He also works within the NHS at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, where he treats both routine GP referrals and complex specialist cases referred from other consultants.
His entire practice is dedicated to knee conditions and injuries. He has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of all aspects of knee problems, including sports injuries, arthritis, and degenerative conditions.
He regularly performs arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery, ligament reconstruction, total knee replacement, and procedures for knee arthritis in younger, active patients. He also specialises in joint-preserving surgery, including osteotomy and patellar stabilisation procedures, which aim to improve knee function and delay the need for joint replacement where appropriate.
A significant part of his work involves sports-related knee injuries. He has extensive experience working with athletes and sports teams and has developed a strong national and international network in sports medicine and knee surgery.
Originally from Worcestershire, he completed his orthopaedic training in Manchester before undertaking an international fellowship in Sports and Reconstructive Knee Surgery at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He later held a Consultant post at Wrightington Hospital, a world-renowned centre for orthopaedic surgery, before returning to Worcestershire.
In addition to his clinical practice, Mr Pearse is actively involved in teaching and training. He is a national and international lecturer and regularly acts as faculty and course facilitator for advanced knee surgery training programmes, including ligament reconstruction and meniscal surgery courses.
He also maintains a strong interest in research and clinical audit, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international orthopaedic conferences.
Through his specialist knee practice at Droitwich Spa Hospital, Mr Pearse provides expert, patient-centred care using advanced surgical techniques designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and support long-term joint health and recovery.
