Mr Andrew Pearse

Consultant Knee Surgeon

About Mr Andrew Pearse

Personal Profile

Mr Pearse is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon whose main clinical practice is based at Droitwich Spa Hospital. He also provides NHS care at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, where he receives both routine GP referrals and complex tertiary referrals from other consultants.

His entire specialist practice is focused on knee surgery, covering the full spectrum of knee conditions and injuries. He has particular expertise in arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery, ligament reconstruction, total knee replacement, and the surgical management of knee arthritis in younger, active patients. This includes joint-preserving procedures such as osteotomy and patellar stabilisation surgery, aimed at improving function and delaying the need for joint replacement where possible.

Mr Pearse has extensive experience in sports-related knee injuries and has worked closely with elite sports teams, building a strong national and international sports medicine network.

Originally from Worcestershire, he completed his orthopaedic training in Manchester before undertaking an international fellowship in Sports and Reconstructive Knee Surgery at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He later worked as a Consultant at the world-renowned Wrightington Hospital, a leading centre for orthopaedic surgery, before returning to Worcestershire with his family.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Pearse is actively involved in education and training. He is a national and international lecturer and serves as a course facilitator and faculty member for advanced knee surgery training programmes, including primary and revision ligament reconstruction and meniscal surgery courses.

He also maintains a strong interest in clinical research and audit, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international orthopaedic conferences.

Through his specialist practice at Droitwich Spa Hospital, Mr Pearse provides expert, patient-centred knee care using advanced surgical techniques designed to improve outcomes, restore mobility, and support long-term joint health.
