About Dr Andrew Paterson

Personal Profile

Dr Andrew Paterson graduated from Edinburgh Medical School in 1988 and undertook his postgraduate training in Edinburgh. His interest in complex benign open and laparoscopic surgery and pelvic floor reconstructive surgery was established there and developed further as a Consultant in Dumfries and Galloway from 1998–2003 and in his NHS Consultant post in the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. From 2003-2023, he was the Clinical Lead for Gynaecology and Lead Clinician for Gynaecological Oncology in Clyde.

He has practiced in Ross Hall Hospital since 2004 where he offers a high quality full general gynaecological practice with excellent post operative and long term outcomes and a specialist tertiary referral practice for pelvic floor reconstruction, complex benign open and laparoscopic surgery and endoscopic ablative techniques.

His research interests are predominantly in innovative gynaecological surgical techniques and medical education.
